Hi! and Welcome

Thanks for taking a look at my personal @alecsatin twitter page. It should give you a little more personal sense of who I am, what feeds my spirit and what I hope to accomplish in my life, through my work and on this website.

The first 30 years of my life were spent in a nearly single-minded pursuit of spirituality and the meaning of life. My quest was both intellectual and experiential and passed through various forms of Christianity, Judaism and eastern religion. Along the way I learned a lot, became much less dogmatic, and somehow found time to start a bookstore and develop a career in IT consulting.

These days my focus is less on learning spirituality and more on doing. I truly strive to make a positive contribution based on the gifts and strengths which have been entrusted me.

I’m so grateful to be sharing my life with the loving and generous actor Lori Hammel. New York City can be a hard place sometimes – living with Lori gives it a much gentler face.

Some people favor “left brain”1 and others “right brain”2. In reality we each have ample capacity for both.

As a trained therapist3 and experienced Information Technology professional4, I seek to infuse the workplace with order, process and sanity wherever possible. Sometimes I’m more successful than other times, but in all cases I like to think that I leave things better than when I found them, and provide more work output than is usually expected.

I started this website to (1) develop lasting friendships and connections with others throughout the world, and (2), pass on some of the lessons and learnings which have been so gracefully given to me.
