For most of us, managing remote team members is one of the more challenging aspects of project management.  By reviewing the articles in this linkfest, you should be able to learn from the experiences of others and hopefully spare yourself some pain.  As before, I’ve attempted to include geographically diverse perspectives where possible.
This collection is targeted to you as a project manager who is leading one or more remote team members.  If you are working as a member of a virtual team, you can gain insight into how to make your remote supervisor’s life a little easier.  Developing this mindset will [...]

This is a Wordle of this recent post.  I wouldn’t have expected that people, project and team would be so emphasized.  I’m very curious to run some email messages through to see what meta-messages may be lurking beneath the surface.
Have you used Wordle?  If so, please share some links to your Wordle creations in the comments.

Do you dare make the 7-fold commitment to your life?

by Alec Satin

Will you come to the end of your life wishing you had done something else?  The Daily Minder’s recent
post on Precious Human Life started me thinking about the choices that guarantee a life of full aliveness.
The PM and Personal Oomph
A project manager is by definition a leader.  That personal essence that she brings into everything she does will speak louder than anything else she may wish to communicate.
Your personal oomph can be clarified and turbo-charged by making what I call a 7-fold commitment to your life.
What is a 7-fold commitment to life?
A 7-fold commitment is your scope statement for an excellent life.  By making these seven [...]
