If you’re looking for work right now, you’re not alone. While Todd Thibodeaux, president of the Computing Technology Industry Association claims that there are 300,000
well paying IT jobs available now, LinkedIn groups and online forums are filled with posts from highly skilled project managers, technical leads and database administrators who are struggling to find work. Can both sides of the debate be right?  The truth is that the technology job market is broken and desperately in need of repair.  You can choose to:

  • (a) Complain about it
  • (b) Work to fix it
  • (c) Roll up our sleeves and do whatever is necessary to find appropriate work for yourself

This post is about option (c).  Let’s get to work.

Do you twitter?
Twitter, a microblogging platform,  allows you to send and receive free short messages of up to 140 characters.
Tweets can be private (called direct messages) or public.  Twitter is 21st century CB Radio.
Here are selected project management and career twitter tweets from the last few weeks.
How can you use these?

Look for project managers to follow @ravenyoung @sreejith_gce
Scan the topics (Project Management Tools, Efficiency and Productivity, etc.) for subjects of interest to you
